Mobile library project

The foundation operates mobile libraries along with community libraries under a mission called ‘book for all’.

The purpose of these projects is to bring libraries and education to children from 2 to 15 years old living in remote areas. The organization visits these areas using mobile libraries, and provides diverse books.

Currently, sikkha owns 4 mobile cars, and visits schools or villages with children in need, 250 ~ 300 times per year.

The mobile library usually stays about 2 hours, and children enjoy reading books, storytelling, puppet show, and drawing. Besides, library staffs introduce good books to children and their parents.

The foundation has been focusing on remote areas such as around Myanmar’s border where many underprivileged minorities live for decades. Children living there rarely have access to books and appropriate education.
